Philosophical fragments from Soren Kierkegaard:  A mighty king was melted by love for a humble maiden who lived in a poor village in his kingdom.  How could this King declare his love for her?  He must become a peasant in order to know if she would love him, for him, and not his riches and power.  Kierkegaard uses this parable to bridge the gap of “understanding” between God and human, and gets to the heart of the matter, for it is only in love that the “unequal” can be made “equal”.  Thus, even as the two; God and man, differ in many ways, they can share one common element, love.  – John 3:16
